What's the difference? And when it goes on your resume, are they two different things? Is a part time MBA looked down upon? I really want to work while getting an MBA. And also, is there an advantage in to partime MBA's over Fulltime? vice versa?

I think it depends on your situation and purpose for attaining your MBA.

If you intend to switch career paths and network heavily then a full time MBA is almost required, since you can obtain an internship in another field to feel it out. Also, the schools prestige and career office can help you find the right position.

Part-timers are generally happy with their career and really need the additional education to remove whatever glass ceiling they have been pressed against. Some part-time programs don’t offer career services. Also, some part-time programs have different diplomas, many don’t.

When I’m lurking through LinkedIn Answers and I see this question come up almost all the answers to the question favor the part-time over the full time MBA. Granted, these answers are coming from mostly recruiters, and not hiring managers, and didn’t bother to look at what industries they were in. Regardless, I think you could swing it either way. A part-time pursuit indicates a) you are happy with your industry and career path b) you are willing to work harder, on your own time, to achieve. The full time programs send a completely different message… So, it depends.
