Hi, I will be graduating in three years this upcoming spring. I have 10 classes left, six of which are upper div biology classes. I was planning on being a part time student for one of the quarters and only take 2 classes. Can I apply to be part time student for any of the three quarters before I graduate, or can I only be a part time student for the spring of 2013, the quarter right before I graduate? Thank you.

Any quarter you want. Lots of reasons exist, it’s not a big deal. But look through the course catalog and see if there’s anything you might consider taking to be full-time. Easy classes to raise your GPA? That one class you always wanted to take but never had time for?

College is a one-shot deal, there’s a lot more out there than just finishing your major requirements and heading for the hills.

That’s a very valid reason. Talk to your undergraduate college first. They will approve you for part time study if you only need two classes that quarter before graduating. You also get almost 75% of the same financial aid amount.

I’m not on financial aid. I would love to take more classes, but everything is out of my parents’ pockets. Saving close to 2,000 dollars by being a part time student and graduating early would be great. If I was on financial aid, I would have double majored instead of taking a gap year before med school. I just wanted to check about the part time status because I want to take two classes during winter quarter instead of during spring quarter. I think I’ll just talk to my counselor. Hate doing so but I have to file all the online paperwork anyways. Thanks for the responses.
