Based on how my credits are lined up, it looks like I’ll only have to take 8 or so credits my final semester, which will automatically make me a part-time student. Will I still be able to live in a campus dorm as a part-time student, or would I have to take more credits to make it at least 12 credits? Aka, what are the ‘consequences’ of becoming a part-time student, and how will it affect me?
I think each college has a specific policy. You should ask your college.
On the other hand, you may want to attend full-time to take extra classes (other interest, minor) if money is not a burden.
Just so you are aware… taking just 8 credits does not ‘automatically’ make you a part-time student. It is considered an ‘under-load’ and I think you’d be required to still pay full-time tuition and fees unless you get that under-load approved… (There is a form for that). Not sure if that affects your housing. . .
