Part Time Student?

Okay so I'm thinking about dropping to 10 units, and I asked financial aid, and they said it's no big deal since they only check after 3rd week. And for ECP, as long as I take more units in winter and spring I'll probably be on track.

Is there anything else I need to worry about for being a part time student for the rest of this quarter? Will they take away my housing? Anything else I need to worry about?

you should be fine...so are you dropping the class or just p/np it...

dropping it... no sense in having it just for a quarter.

I e-mailed my financial counselor and if I chose to drop to 10 units, I would have to pay a $250 fee for my Academic Competitiveness Grant because it requires me to be a full time student. So if you are receiving aid, make sure you check to see if becoming a part time student will affect your aid.

I'm in exactly the same situation right now. I just dropped my math class this afternoon, now leaving me taking only 9 units.

Would there be a reduction in my University Grant? And should I just wait unitl they contact me about the Academic Competitiveness Grant, and maybe hopefully they wouldn't know that I just dropped it now since it's already Week 7?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

You should contact your financial counselor like mnucla did...you'll get the most accurate answer for your situation
