Does anyone know anything about going part time?
I'm entering my sophomore year, am done with all my GEs, and am like, 15 units away from have Senior standing. For this reason, I'm thinking of only taking two classes each quarter next year. Does anybody know about the consequences of going part time? Am I still eligible for financial aid? Am I supposed to apply for part time status? Is there a website I can go to to find out more?

Thank you so much! I've googled relentlessly, and haven't found anything yet. . . : )

you won’t be getting full financial aid (most likely reduced university grants, and half-time pell grants), and you can only live in on-campus housing for one quarter (source: [Full time student eligibility](<a href=“Full Time Student Eligibility”>Full Time Student Eligibility)). housing does audits at the end of fall quarter to verify full-time status.

Thanks so much for your response! The financial aid thing makes sense, but the housing is surprising. . . I had a friend who was in the same college as me (letters) and she did part time (2 classes) all of last year. She was my roommate, and kept her housing all year. I’m 'gonna ask how she did this. . .

Bump? Bumpety bump bump.

not very sure about it but i wanted to ask why would you consider part time study? because 3 classes (12 units) isn’t very hard to deal with even on top of a job, or you can try to just graduate early instead of taking 2 classes for 3 more years…

I would save those 2 class quarters for the end when major classes get tough as well.
