Participating in Science Fairs?

Hi!

Since I currently do research at a nearby research institution, I was advised to participate in some science competitions such as Intel ISEF (or local affiliated fairs), the BioGENEius Challenge, and Davidson Fellows.

I didn’t think too much about science competitions before starting my research — I decided to do research because I really enjoy science :).

However to participate in these competitions, I needed to have a board from each fair to review my research proposal BEFORE I did research. But at this point, I am already pretty well-in my research and have made significant progress.

On the other hand, my research project (which is primarily focused on using recombinant DNA) was approved by the institution I intern at before I started.

Is it too late for me to participate in one of these competitions with my current project?

Thanks for the help!

hey can you help me come up with a research topic

JSHS, Regeneron, MIT THINK, Google Science Fair, and Neuroscience Research Prize are some good ones, although I believe their application deadlines have already passed. ISEF and the regional fairs do require prior approval, which is certainly pretty annoying.

Although it’s relatively late in the year, you still have time to apply to BioGENEius and Davidson. You might want to consider publishing your work too. Check out the Columbia Junior Science Journal. Good luck!
