Hey, glad to see a post here!

I am really interested in transferring to Fordham (LC campus) next fall.

I have a few questions:

Can you tell me some of your favorite/ least favorite things about the school. If you are at LC, about how large are the classes? Can you be enrolled at LC, but take a class or two at RH?

Thanks!

hi Spiral, I'm not at LC but I can tell you that I love the RH campus. To me it feels very peaceful when i'm there. The only thing I can think of that I dislike of the school is that it's a little behind technology wise, compared to other big schools in the city. Thus far, I love just about evrything else.

I know for a fact that you can be enrolled at either campus and take a class or two at the other. just make sure you clear it with your dean first.

Hope my reply helps. Good Luck!

I posted a question regarding my chances under the transfer topic right here in the fordham forum- and your advice/ input would be wonderful! Fordham LC is my first choice- I am a freshman applying for transfer spring 06- I can't wait to get out of here and be there! Thankyou!

Well, I'm no expert when it comes to the transfer question, but based on conversations I've had with two dean's here at RH, chances are that you are gonna have to have a pretty good reason for requesting a transfer...like a change in major. You have to be approve by your dean and he/she is gonna want to know why you want to leave RH to Lincoln Ctr now and not before. If I'm not mistaken, the two campus use slightly diffrent admission criterias, mostly based on availability; Lincoln Ctr is very selective because of the limited space. Again, my words are not carved in stone, and I'm not 100% sure if my thoughts are accurate, so your best bet would be to contact your dean and request a sit down. Just make sure you dont say, "I want to transfer there because its nicer"

G/L!

I don't attend another Fordham campus- I am a freshamn at UMASS- Amherst

I've been a little busy with classes so I haven't been able to get on as frequently as I'd like. avtussel07 I'm sorry I misread your question, to give you a quick answer - if you are getting good grades at Amherst, and have a decent academic record from high school; you really should not have too much trouble transferring into RH.

For those of you looking to get into LC, it is a little tougher to get accepted because of the more limited seats available, needless to say - it's a lot more competitive.

Im not too familiar with how the new SATs are weighted, so Ill refrain from making any judgment call based on those grades listed here by some of you guys.

I wish the best of luck to everyone.

Because of Fordham's Affiliation to the Jesuits does that mean that Fordham is completly dry of partying and what not. I am not really too worried because i dont drink but i was wondering how much drinking etc. goes on at Fordham?

the jesuits dont really get involved too much with that. Students here have as much partying as probably anywhere else. If what you're asking is if Fordham is a frat-party school, then no. But needless to say students do go out, party and get crazy just like the next school.

LC classes are very small. Soem classes can get prety big...and pretty big means that its 35 kids not 300 which are like most schools. Also LC is very nice and the people here are really friendly. There are a lot of commuters from LC, though that shouldnt be a problem because that makes hanging out in the city even easier.

Plus unlike a lot of schools, Fordham has an activities fee which it pools from everyone-about 180 dollars and they spend a lot of money taking people to dinner, movies, broadway shows and everything

my first month at fordham I went to see 2 broadway shows for 20 dollars each-Orchestra seats that would normally go for 150. I went to dinner at 3 restaurants-meals all paid for by fordham. I went to trips to movies and other things. I've had lunch paid for-italian cuisines. Its a very nice school and if you're willing you can definitely get into everything NYC has to offer

Thanks tired_student. I've applied to LC EA and that's good to know. When I visited Fordham I went to RH and just did a walk by of LC. I wish I had done the opposite as LC appeals to me more.
