Hi, please answer if you could offer some insight on my situation.
My unweighted GPA is currently 3.65. My weighted is a much better 4.52.
After my freshman and sophomore years, I had only taken one AP (Spanish), and my gpa bordered around 3.55/4.35.
However, my junior year, I began to get straight A’s and I took two AP courses (USH and Lang). Since I got straight A’s in everything my junior year, my GPA rose to where it is currently. However, I am worried because I only took those two AP’s and Pre-Calc along with a research class, and took some music classes. I am glad about my upward trend, but worried because my schedule will seem light, even if I did score 5’s on both exams and scored high grades. My senior year I am taking 6 AP’s (AP European History, AP English Literature, AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, AP U.S. Government, and AP Macroeconomics). I am 99% I will achieve straight A’s for my semester senior year report, bringing my GPA up to a 3.7/4.6.
How much will this weigh in? I am applying to several competitive schools, such as Northeastern, Colgate, UNC, Boston College, Cornell, UF, etc). Will my chances be significantly marred because of this? Or will my this upward trend, some glowing recommendations, awesome senior grades and course rigor, test scores make up for it? My ACT is a superscored 32, trying to bring it to 33. Applying to schools that superscore ACT.
Thank you for your time and please respond if you can.
