Im applying to the UNviersity of Vermont which I know is a big party school. I would appreciate some feedback on the party scene and what goes down besides alcohol. I am also applying to University of Rhode Island, Temple University, Bentley College and UCONN what are the party scenes at theses schools?

I know some people that go to Temple and they were satisfied with the social scene as far as things to do balanced with partying.

In my opinion, nothing on the East Coast is much of a party school, at least from the friends I know and have visited. The only one on your list that I have even heard about from a party perspective is that the UConn kids get CRAZY during basketball season.

And I thought Bentley was a hippie school, not a party school? Or was that hampton? The school that has no grades and no majors?

ha, you couldnt be more wrong about the east coast. there's party schools everywhere, what in your mind makes the east coast so much worse? what schools did you visit? besides, california isnt the end all of party schools, USC is pretty cool, but then again you do have Pepperdine.....

UConn is kind of.
I go to high school in the same town and they send letters home telling our parents to keep us home every spring weekend.
The basketball season is definitely the craziest but I think it goes on year round...I don't go to the parties but I know people who do.

Any big state school with over 20,000 students that is not primarily a commuter school is usually an awesome party school.

Save the money you spend on tuition, get a low-end job, and spend four years partying on that. Then, when you're partied out, you may be in the frame of mind to study and you won't have wasted the tuition money.

Dartmouth is the party school for intellectuals.

Yay! I second that ubermensch!!

i dont plan on wasting away my college tuition im there to get an education first and everything comes second for your information. Even now in highdchool I have a grasp of my ideals. I dont party on school nights, dont drink during the week, and dont drink before I have sporting events. I know when to stop and dont drink just to get drunk. So dont talk to me about wasting my money.

yeah, thedad, because all college is about is going to classes and studying. none of that having fun or meeting people or getting involved or maturing is supposed to happen in college

A question of priorities, Tcolgate. I think that even U/Chicago--"where fun goes to die"--you have fun, meet people, get involved, and mature. My point is that if parties are your primary priority, there are better ways to do it then wasting your money with college. Or partying your way through college and then waking up a decade later and realizing you'd like a "do over" because you wasted those four years.

he did mention "activities other than alcohol." he didnt say thats all he saw in the schools. besides, theres nothing wrong with wanting to know if a school is a party school. its the same thing as all the kids who post here asking for sober schools, they just want some info.

University of CO
University of Indiana
University of Illinois-Urbana

any large state school knows how to party...
depends on who you want to party with...at mizzou, most of the parties are fraternity dominated/emphasis placed thereon, but you can find other parties too...
