So I'm a senior and I think that PC is my first choice.
I am a huge partier, I love to get drunk and high, which is part of the reason I'm looking at PC. However, I also take my academics seriously and am a strong student.
My boyfriend is in college in Boston, so we'd only be a short train ride away from each other, and we'd definitely want to spend the weekends sleeping at each others colleges. I was wondering, is the parietal rule difficult to get around?/Will I most likely be stuck in an all-girls dorm the first year?
I'm not very religious either, but I'm open minded and do not mind going to a religious school, but will they shove Catholicism down my throat? Thanks!

well for one, i wouldnt start off by saying " i love to get drunk and high" … thats pretty pathetic. as for the parietals, they are extremly strict w/ the opposite sex. you would need to have a male friend who is willing to let your bf sleep over in his dorm. but i must say as a non- drinker who goes here, its very annoying listening to someone actually considering a school because of a party scene. the tuitionhere is very expensive, so if your going to waste 50000 of your parents money to party go to a cheaper, less academically challenging school.

I got a large financial aide package, so it comes out to the price of my in-state school, and I stayed with my friend who goes there, and they say parietals are easy to get around as long as you’re discrete about it.

So hah.

And also, I’m an extremely diligent student rocking a 3.9 gpa so I’m up for the challenge as well as the parties if I do decide to come here.

abbles, how do u know already that u have a large financial aide package? I wouldn’t think any admission decisions have even been made yet.

oh sorry abbles i forgot you already go here and know everything about PC. if u knew what youwere talking about youd know there is a security guard at every girls dorm from 6 pm to the morning. so ha.

I graduated a few years ago, and if it’s the same as it was when I attended (and I’m guessing it is), parietals are a big pain and they are well-enforced. It’s not easy to sneak guys into the girls’ dorm, and security guards are at the entrances. And yes, as a freshman, you will almost certainly be in an all-female dorm unless you get Aquinas.

Also, the long-distance Boston-to-Providence relationship is pretty common at PC and most of them end because it’s just a long and complicated enough trip to get annoying. I’m not saying all of these relationships are doomed, but being in one city together is much easier!
