as Sparticus said, if people decide not to drink, people respect their choice. As I have also found at my HS parties, and as Sparticus mentioned, the people who are not held in high respects are those who pretend to drink by "nursing a beer for three hours." Nicely put Sparticus. I agree with him in that respect... I have never had a problem with people who drink/don't, but the people who look like fools are the few who pretend to drink and don't have the balls to make an honest choice.

People honestly are too drunk to care about whether you're drinking or not. Those sober enough to notice are in the same boat as you. No non-drinkers that I know ever had a problem.

And the party atmospheres are almost always friendly, especially to freshman believe it or not, to make a good impression on the girls and (perhaps more importantly) potential rushes.

I haven't seen fights at the parties, or in general. I like to think that most people at Cornell are slightly more mature than that. The only time there is some hostility is when there are huge lines/crowds for drinks coupled with people abusing the situation by not moving from the front. As AJKates said, no one bothers non-drinkers, as it's perfectly respectable to enjoy oneself sober. With regard to beer goggles, some guy turned on the lights at one party and it was utterly disasterous (we left, more like ran, to another party, of course).

^haha, spanks - are nearly all girls at cornell somewhat unattractive? is it really a difficult task to find a good looking girl on campus/ in parties? this could be a potential major problem...

I'm a girl :), I was talking about the guys on campus...hah. But from a girl's point of view, no, it's not too difficult to find good looking members of either sex, if your standards aren't too far above your appearance. Ex. awkward, nerdy kid in high school isn't going to hook up with hottest girl at Cornell, you get what I'm saying. I think it all depends on which parties you go to and what you look like, to be perfectly shallow. But um, personality counts, just not for random hook-ups, since there isn't much talking involved.

ha im not sure why i assumed you were male... anyway, thanks.

Me neither...lol...

there are enough attractive girls at cornell...well not ENOUGH to make me with there weren't more obviously, (where can you stop? haha) but there are enough.

are there any that wear Oakleys? :p Sorry, I have to get that in there...

XD I used to have a pair...?

I say that we all have a CC party next year at Cornell to celebrate that we were all accepted. :) (can we say desperately positive thinking?)

existentialpony- You are a female and had a pair of Oakleys?

P.S.- why the morbid screen name? are you an existentialist?

Yes, actually. XD

Ah, it wasn't meant to be morbid... it was partially a joke nickname that stuck. I'm not an existentialist but existentialism at one point intrigued me.

Where have you been all my life?!! lol, jk. I don't wanna freak you out, but on the thread "The Chatroom" we have this long discussion about Oakleys and I mentioned that I've never met a girl that wore Oakleys, and then I said that if anygirl did wear them it would be grounds for an immediate request for marriage... Or something like that.

Ahh, ok... lol, I was kinda like, "hmm, existential... pony..." It's a very funny name, but I was kinda concerned, lol.

blackferrari: lol, stop e-hitting on pony girl.

lol, my bad.... I was trying to explain that I wasn't hitting on her, but I guess I dug myself a hole, lol. Sorry. ;)

OK I know this is going to sound soooo random, but existentialpony, are you asian?

i bet you're asking that because she wrote XD or xD

;)

Is it difficult ot get laid at Cornell if you're good-looking??? Or are all the girls looking for a committed relationship???

lol! dirtbag...um...plenty of girls don't want a relationship, but you might want to be a little more tactful when trying to get laid ;).

i went to a cornell frat party a couple of years ago because my friend's sister goes there... it was a LOT of fun, people were nice... we also stayed in her sister's sorority house which was amazing, i'd seriously want to join one just to live in the house.
