Hey does anyone know about the party scene at WashU? I know its pretty academically oriented, but i think partying is a must at any college.

If you know the right people, you will have loads of fun =)

you don't actually have to "know the right people" to have fun. on nights that people don't know what's going on, or when parties haven't been publicized or whatever, a quick walk over to frat row and a few minutes of listening to see which house the most noise is coming from will direct you towards a solid evening, nine times out of ten. at the vast majority of washu parties, everyone is welcome--that's how they get to be so fun, obviously.

It's never hard to find a party of the kind you're looking for. As you get older, apartment parties are more popular and facebook makes finding them really easy.

That's basically true...frat parties are especially popular among the upperclassmen, but then as they get older they begin to have their own parties in their apartments and suites and what not.

Frat parties at WashU vary as to what all they have going on. Some of them are themed (bubbles party, 80s party, etc.), while most of them feature music, drinks, beirut/beer pong tables, and sometimes a dance floor. If the frat party isn't exactly your cup of coffee, there are plenty of apartment parties that people like to go to as well.
