Parties in College?

I'm trying to get an idea of what I can expect in college. How often do you go to parties, and what are they like? Do they conflict with your academic/extracurricular load, or do they compliment it? Please state what school or what type of school you're attending.

I go to what you might call a party school and I party very infrequently. I don’t like getting drunk/hungover. The “parties” you attend will be very different from those you attended in HS. They will only interfere with your academics if you let them.

what pokemon is THAT?

I go out maybe every other weekend (more often during football season), but not if I know I have an exam/paper coming up next week. It’ll obviously depend on the size/location/“feel” of your school, but parties usually run the spectrum from small dorm get-together to much larger house/frat parties. Just know your limits and always go with friends.

My first year I studied the majority of the time and took on 17-18 majors each semester so I really didn’t get involved much as well as unnecessary drama. Second year I only went to friend’s apartment and went to one or two parties …My campus is large. Didn’t help or distract me from work.

I go to Arizona and party almost every weekend, but I am still maintaining dean’s list in engineering and honors status, so as long as you can control yourself and get everything you need to done, you can have as much fun as you want! Bigger schools have bigger party scenes, zona is big but doesn’t feel like it, but known for partying hard. Basically, if you enjoy partying, it will compliment your school work if you don’t lose control of the fact that you are a student first.

im praying 4 u

I have never gone to a party lol. Not my scene.

Medium sized state school, I go maybe once a month downtown to a party. Not really my thing but fun to get out once in a while.

@ZombieDante‌ Zombie? Is that you?

Maybe every other week? Usually they’re just kick backs at friends’ apartments or houses where we talk and hang out. Occasionally I’ll go to themed frat parties although I’m not much of a fan unless I know some of the brothers well. IMO open parties are usually sweaty messes where the goal is to maximize drunkenness while minimizing communication.

I go to a large state flagship in a suburban college town.

I definitely drank a lot more at my previous school, a rural LAC. However most of that drinking took place in the dorms where maybe eight students would share a handle or two and then hang out in some capacity, so not really partying I guess.

@Niquii77 LOL yeah! I’m back. The whole redesign really turned me off from CC for a long time. I’m back though! Back with a vengeance (towards who, I don’t know yet, but vengeance no less)!

PS Woah you can @ people now and it actually notifies them?! That’s awesome!

But umm yeah to the OP (do people still say that here?) party as little or as much as you want. It isn’t hard to find something, just remember you are there for academics not to have a good time. Fine the balance and don’t feel pressured to go either way.
