A party atmosphere isn't the only thing I'm looking for in a college, but it's pretty important to me. I want to go to an academically prestigious school first, and the second most important thing to me is the parties and social life. I'm looking at UVA, Georgetown, University of Texas and Tulane; of these, which is the biggest "party school" and has the best Greek life? Thanks.

i might be biased because tulane is my alma mater, but my vote is for tulane.
our unofficial student body motto was “first we outthink you, than we outdrink you”. and you can’t beat going to school in new orleans…pretty self-explanatory regarding the party atmosphere. there is greek life at tulane that around 30% of the students participate in. the nice thing about being in nola is you don’t have to be a part of greek life to have the party scene, but greek life is still strong and definitely there if you want it.

with that said, any big state flagships like University of Texas will have the party and greek scene, especially with the big sports scene. other state schools you might look into that are “academically prestigious” with a strong party scene are University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and UNC. go to colleges.niche.com…the schools are rated from the “unofficial” student viewpoint and there is a category that includes nightlife. that should help you out!

Texas
Tulane
UVA
Georgetown
From the list you provided, unfortunately the higher the prestige, the less partier the school is. Mostly, Large public schools are known to party most, I’m guessing due to Higher Greek life and TOOOOOO - MANY students…
Best of luck to you.
