Party/drinking culture

Hi guys!

I recently toured Holy Cross, and I absolutely loved it. However, I've heard that it has the reputation of being a party school because of all the drinking that happens. Can current students maybe say if this reputation is true? I'm not really into the whole "drinking thing".

Nearly all colleges have a big drinking culture but you can avoid it completely at Holy Cross if you choose to live in the substance free housing http://www.holycross.edu/studentlife/housing/oncampus/substancefree.html.

I’m a rising senior at Holy Cross. In all honesty, that reputation is no longer true. The parties off campus have gotten a lot tamer over the years because the cops have really cracked down. The on-campus parties mostly take place in the Junior or Senior dorms because the RA’s in Freshman/Sophomore dorms are pretty strict. If they hear music playing, they will come in and tell you to turn it down. So coming in as a freshman you would definitely be able to avoid the party scene and there are plenty of activities to do on the weekends besides drink.
