Party Like a Rockstar :P

I am currently a senior. I wanted to ask if UC colleges (especially Berkeley and LA) will at least consider accepting me, based on my current situation (I plan on applying for EECS):

So I came from India in my junior year. Because of this, I wasn't allowed to take any Honors classes that year, and the AP classes (such as Psychology and USH) I could take (that were available, at least) were ones I felt I would surely do bad in, so I only took 1 AP class in my junior year (AP Statistics). Also, because of this, I don't have many volunteering hours (around 44 so far) and I didn't have any opportunities to volunteer anywhere during this summer.

Grades: (The first grade means the grade I got the first semester, the second grade is the grade I got second semester)

Junior Year/11th grade:
AP Statistics - B-/A
Physics - B+/A-
Digital Imaging - A/A
English 11 - A/A
U.S. History - A/A
Pre-calculus - A/A

UW GPA 1st semester: 3.667; UW GPA 2nd semester: 4.000

Senior Year/12th grade: (Grades so far)
AP Calculus AB - A
AP Physics B - A-
AP Government/AP Economics - A (in Gov.)
Digital Imaging 2 - A
English 12 - A-
Health/P.E. - A (in P.E.)

UW GPA (so far): 4.000

SAT Reasoning Test Scores:
2070 (First try) - Breakdown: 690 CR, 710 M, 670 W
2140 (Second try) - Breakdown: 700 CR, 720 M, 700 W

SAT Subject Test Scores:
Math Level 2 - 780
Physics - 720 (going to retake in November)

AP score(s):
AP Statistics - 5

ECs:
1] JV Badminton team (Junior year, will go in senior year as well)
2] Math club (Junior & senior year)
3] Interact Club - 8 hours (Senior year, participated in only 1 event so far :P)
4] Math tutoring at school - 30 hours
5] Volunteered at my school's book room - 10 hours
6] Currently privately tutoring a student from my school in Pre-Calculus (started this senior year) for $10/hr, so I guess this could be considered a job?
7] Team HBV (haven't actually done anything in this club yet T_T)

I doubt my essays are flawless, but I think they're fairly decent.

As a side note, I am currently self-studying for AP Calculus BC and AP Physics C: Mech and E&M. I doubt this will be counted though.

I am a California resident, and I am a permanent resident of the U.S.

Based on all of this, what do you think my chances will be for all of the UCs, especially Berkeley and LA for EECS? Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I'll be happy to chance you back!

bump bump bump

bump again… come on people!

I think you have a good shot at the mid tier UCs.

psssst. You added your second SAT wrong.

But your ECs are damn near worthless…sorry if that’s mean. 8 hours at a bookstore? Math Club? Team HBV? JV Badminton starting Junior year?

I’m sorry, but hopefully these schools don’t care about ECs at all.

^If you didn’t read the post, I’d like to remind you that I MOVED here junior year, and I didn’t have a lot of opportunities to volunteer anywhere.

Yeah I understand your situation (as will admissions officers). Explain this in your app!!! I cannot stress that enough. EXPLAIN IT IN YOUR APP. It can only help you! Anyways, I think you’re fine everywhere except UCSD, UCLA, and UCB. Those are low/mid reaches. Good luck!

bump… anyone else?

don’t unbump this

oh i forgot to mention that I applied to the much dreaded EECS… and also there’s not much of a point to this thread anymore, but i’d still like responses to garner opinions.
