I’m considering bowdoin for its academics but I’m curious about the party scene. What I really want to know is how prevalent are hook ups. If I go to a party what are the odds I’ll hook up with someone?

I want to know the answer to this question too, someone answer this please !?! We’re curious

Do you want to be able to hook up, or do you not want a pervasive hook up culture? Some would view the latter as a positive, others as a negative.

Basically:

a) Are the parties at Bowdoin any good (other than Ivies) and do a lot of people go to them?
b) Do people hook up after parties? Or is it just a casual thing for it to happen anytime around campus?

If this is what you are curious about, then I hope that your parents aren’t paying for any of your college costs! But there are other college ranking sites that focus more on that kind of stuff, if that is important to you. Not so much this site. Google 'em.

A) Yes, especially after a semester or two once you have a solid friend group and know people all over campus. We’re not a big state school though, so don’t expect anything from American Pie.

B) Totally depends on you. Like most colleges, there’s a ‘hook-up culture’ surrounding parties, but there are plenty of people who are less casual. Whether or not this is a good thing is an ongoing debate.
