I´m a international student and i´m planning to spent a year as exchange student in the US. I have heard amazing things about party in the US colleges ( i have also see it in some movies but i think is a bit exagerated there ) and i really want experience it.

My options are:
-Boston univ
-Tufts univ
-georgetown univ
-ohio state univ
- univ of colorado at boulder
- syracuse univ
-george whasinton univ

I would like to know wich ones are the best for partying and wich ones the worst

not sure that partying is the best criteria for choosing your college exchange program

As an international student, would you rather go to a school in a city where there is a lot to do like Boston or Washington DC (BU, Tufts, GW, Georgetown)? Do you want to be somewhere it snows a lot and you can ski (Colorado)? Or do you prefer to be at a school where most of the activities revolve around the school because the city is not that big or interesting (Ohio State, Syracuse)?

Typically partying goes on at every school, but I would say Ohio State and Syracuse would be big party schools. Colorado is also known as a party school and also for liberal marijuana laws.

OP, go to a California school. Check out the list if UCSB, UCSD, UCLA or USC are in the list. They’re all amazing schools with beautiful campuses, awesome student bodies and friendly weather.

From your list, I’d go for Univ of Colorado at Boulder.

i ve been UCLA and its certainly beutifull, but the only california option i have is san diego state university tand as far as i know is not very strong in physics.

About what i intend to do, i intend to have a good time(beside studing) and i want to experience the unique aspects of US universities . I study in europe and i ´ve been in two different universities (erasmus program) so i know about clubbing and the party in big citys but in europe we dont have party in the university we dont have frats and dorms arents the same.

anyway education in US is the best so is something i want to do with or without party.

Georgetown is not a party school and George Washington is an urban school without a ‘campus bubble’ which means its going to be a lot more like the typical European urban college experience. Likewise, Tufts isn’t a party school and BU is like George Washington (and both have worse weather.) I’d go with Colorado because it’s got solid academics AND decent weather in a beautiful area.

One more point: If you plan to do any tourism, Colorado is a great jumping off point. The east coast has it’s attractions, but if you want to see what is really spectacular about the US, visit our national parks, especially those in the west. There is nothing comparable in Europe.

I have to fill several options in order of preference , the first three option are, in order of preference :

-Colorado
-Ohio
-Syracuse

But is not sure that i will be chosen for any of the three and i can put up to ten options.

For a application to a university in US , how much difference will be between one year in GW or one year in san diego state (senior year physics major)?
