Party schools with good academics/rankings?

I want to go to a good school and id like it to have a good party scene! Like northwestern type scene. I'm not asking if I can get in but what are some colleges I could look at? Its okay if they're really selective. :) thanks!

Duke University. A top 10 school that knows how to have fun.

depends on how you want to define good. Personally, i’d probably include NW, NYU, USC, and UCSB.

NYU is not a fun school and UCSB is not a good school lol.

Haha yeah I need something a little more academic than ucsb. The only thing about nyu is id like something more…colleg-y.

Like people hang in the dorms and its not like so huge.

Wisconsin; UCSB

i have heard that it is up to you to make college fun

probably boring people think their school is boring

and fun people think their school is fun

Vanderbilt! The only school to be top 20 in both academics and partying

NYU is not a party school.

Any colleges with higher academics that are smaller with more of a social scene? Haha basically the only colleges I like are princeton(lol in my dreams) and northwestern(my more realistic dream)

NYU is definitely NOT a party school. (I came to NYU because it’s not a party school) Parties take place in bars and clubs and never on campus. And, since we do not have any sort of relevant greek life, we have none of the greek parties.

Dartmouth might fit your criteria with higher academics and a smaller school. UPenn is definitely a good party school (at least when I was there).

Many highly ranked schools have decent party scenes. Maybe not as crazy as a school like ASU, but decent. There are different types of “party scenes” too. It can include influential Greek life, schools in urban environments with tons of clubs, etc. You’re in college, chances are pretty high that there are people around you that will want to drink and let loose. There are only a few schools in US News & World top 25 that, from rumor, I would question how hard they party (I.E. UChicago, Johns Hopkins, CMU, Emory?).

Uvaaaaaaa!

NYU has a campus? :D

I was conjecturing NYU’s status as a party school due to it’s position in New York. Presumption retracted.

Forgot about Penn, but I also recommend it. Apparently it’s known as ‘the social ivy.’

USC, BC, U Miami, U Wisco, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, big schools will have big party scenes. Smaller schools will also have party scenes but the big ones have more because they’re bigger. It’s not hard to find. If you want to find a good school that’s a party school, look for good colleges and then see which ones are bigger ones.

I’m sure there are great parties at all the Ivies. I mean, you know what they say about rich WASP types and cocaine…

Hey, I consider my lump of buildings around Washington Square to be a campus! lol

MIT and Harvard also supposedly have good parties – or so I’ve heard?

The ivies used to be filled with rich WASPs, but tidy they’re some of the most diverse schools out there.

Dartmouth and Penn are the party ivies. Duke, Williams, Colgate party too.

This screams UT-Austin
