Alright guys, I have a tough question for all of you. I'm a senior and I want to throw a big end-of-the-year party at my house in a couple weeks. How do I get my family out of the house overnight? It's my mom, sister (16), and brother (14). My dad will be gone the weekend I want to throw the party. I already reccomended that they visit a college for my sister that weekend, but that didn't work. Any advice would be great, thanks!

ALL ideas are welcome. I'm really stuck, and I really want to have this party.

Tell your parents that you want to have a party, but you don't want them to be there, so it would be nice of them to leave the house that weekend.

Genius! Why didn't I think of that?

Tell them that family member/friend, X, died in state/country, Y, and that their funeral is soon. Say it's a trick when they get there and buy them rooms and passes to Disney Land/World (or any other fun place there).

Oh, I guess I forgot to mention that my parents aren't retarded.

Why don't you just have a party at a friend's house? Then you don't have to clean up the mess.

The brother and sister are easy but how are you supposed to kick your mom out of the house?

That would never work with me.

How much money do you have?

If I can't figure out a way to do it here, then I'll probably do it at a friend's house. But out of all my friends, my house would be the best place, and I just really want to do it here.

Recommend that your mother take a day off (overnight spa stay?), and that you'll watch the siblings. Then tell the siblings to arrange sleepovers/whatever with friends that night (easier for the girl, harder for the boy).

You'd have to have her trust, though...

Or, tell her that you want to try a night alone - y'know, preparing for college, responsibility, that crap. It's easier on the family if it's during a time that one person already has to go, so...

PrescitedEntity, those are both great ideas. Especially the one about a night alone to prepare for college- I like that. I think I might try it. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks!

Since you're a Dodger fan, are you from LA?

if you are, what high school do you go to?

Good luck! :D

Haha, I'm good at this kind of thing, eh? :p
