Does UMD have a good party scene? I like to party, not overexcessively, but i like to party and would enjoy a good party scene. I also got into Penn State but want to go to UMD because it is a better and nicer school. But if the party scene sucks Penn State it is because I'm not going through college without good parties.

I really hope you’re joking. You’re about to invest thousands of dollars into a college and the only thing you care about is the party scene?

Chill out. Party scenes , although they should not be anywhere near the main concern when picking the school , are a legitimate concern.

The party scene at MD is great. I am a senior in maryland , and i have been to cp aprox. 6 times. All these times i have had an amazing time. Lots of drinking , idk about in the dorms but in knox towers its def on. Apartment parties at knox towers , and frat row is filled people at around 10 pm.

You two must be relatives.

Partying at UMD isn’t what it used be. Since there are only 2 bars for 36,000 students, those are always crowded. But nowadays nobody goes anymore because they got really strict about ID’s since the whole stabbing incident at Turtle. House parties have kinda gone down because campus police are cracking down on them. So people mostly just drink in the dorms and campus apartments basically.

House and apartment parties are becoming more common than they were when Turtle and Fe were open. It’s the same at PSU, with frat and house partying being the main party scene and not the bars.

I’ve gone to DC a lot more since the bars in CP closed. It isn’t too bad to get to if you take the metro or have a friend with a car, but DC bars are more expensive than CP bars. Great restaurants in DC, too.

everyone cares about partying Yuppity, i understand your probly a parent but lets be real people go to college to have fun. And you will probly be unhappy at your school if you dont go out and have fun.
