partying?

Hi I just got accepted as a transfer to UC Davis. I know its not a “party school”, but what kind of party scene is there? Is it boring? Or is it possible to party and find something fun to do if you want?

Also, what is the best place to live in Davis? I will not be living on campus and want to find a good apartment/area. Any recommendations??

Any information on Davis in general would be great as I’m trying to learn as much as possible about the area.
Thanks!

If you want to be close to shopping and restaurants, live in downtown Davis. West Davis is also known as “Best Davis” according to Davis Wiki, but there’s not a lot of shopping in West Davis.

For party scene, there’s Frat Row across the street from the Segundo area. I don’t know too much about the quality of their parties, though, since I’ve never been to a frat party. You can also make your own party if you want.

Frat row can have some good parties on occasion, but they’re usually pretty packed. My suggestion would be to find some upperclassmen who like to party. Apartment/house parties are definitely your best bet. Also, there are clubs you can join that throw some good parties (Ski or Snowboard and Band-uh come to mind.) You’re right, UC Davis isn’t a party school, so you’ll have to put in some effort to find parties, but they do exist (and they’re easier to find when you have friends living off campus.)

Or you could always rush. My friend’s frat seems to have a good amount of parties, a lot of which are for greeks only.
