Last time I checked Mrs. Wang and Ms. King are still here. I agree with you about Ms. King. She's the best math teacher i ever had. She made calc fun and easy for me especially series,(remember series jeopardy?)

Is Dean Martinez the young hispanic dean? Because if that's him then i think he's gone by the time i graduated from ahs.

I also believe coach o'brian still wears those super short shorts. My sister is suffering in his class with all the running he makes his class do.

I'm wondering if any of you knew anyone who went to pcc and transferred to universities other than ucs and usc??

same here but from what i've heard, if u get a 3.75 gpa or higher, ur almost guaranteed to go to a UC

i think there was one person back a couple of years that transferred to caltech. I'm not sure though.

wow, that's really great and it's nice to know that PCC is a respected CC

hey there fellow cc-ers. Im starting out at PCC this spring semester as an architecture major. Glad to see many of you attend there as well. Im actually a student from Las Vegas, not yet a Cal resident, so I have to pay 160/unit which really sucks. On top of that, im not eligible for any cal grants or fee waivers that all you lucky residents have access to. I have to file loans just to be able to attend.
I actually got a 10,000 dollars scholarship (which is almost a free-ride) to the University of Las Vegas, NV. But I didn't really like the school nor its architecture program. So, in pursuit of a better education (plus I have a gf that lives out here, haha), here I am in California going to PCC. Hopefully I meet some of you guys, you all seem pretty cool. I don't really know anyone in Cal yet except for my gf so it'd be nice meeting some new people.
I'm hoping to be able to transfer to UC Berkely (my top choice), USC, or UCLA after about 2 1/2 years at PCC. Any of you guys have the same interests in schools or majors as me, please let me know. We could help each other out.
=)

^ wow, thats quite a commitment. I am not from PCC (Mtsac FTW) but wish you luck!

Hey kid of america, welcome to California! How do you like it? And yes indeed that is quite a commitment! But I am sure you will enjoy it here and receive a great education, I know a lot of people who moved all around California just to come to PCC too. And if you want to know what's cool and fun to do here in LA, feel free to ask! I pretty much know this place inside and out.

haha great. thanks for the warm welcome and the quick replies. Cali is alot more hectic than vegas is, especially when it comes to registering for classes. I registered 2 days after my priority time and almost everything was full. I was lucky enough to have waited til some people dropped their classes to have the schedule i have now. In vegas i registered last minute and still got in every class of my choice ( i didn't attend them, of course). everything seems more busy here, people are always rushing back and forth to go take care of some business. Vegas is alot more laid back, filled with people who are just lolly-gagging not knowing where to go or what to do. I feel like i fit in here alot better than in vegas, i wanna be where the committed and talented individuals are.
Anyways, thanks alot! Hopefully i see some of you guys around campus sometime. Im pretty nervous about transferring to Berkeley though. It seems so competitive and I wouldnt know what to do if i didn't get in. I guess that's how everyone here feels...
