you'll get used to it.
it's always the first days/weeks that are a little out of place.

Parking sucks.

Yeah it's pretty crowded.

Is it true that after some time into the semester that the student population decreases by a sizeable amount due to many people dropping out?

Tiberius:
Yep. It's only the first few weeks that gets pretty crazy. Some students do drop out after that.
Are you on your first or second year?

I got parking pretty easily on Tuesday. I entered the lot once, and someone was already coming out :p

It's the sad part of PCC I guess. I've had some classes where 50-70% of students dropped.

Yams, this is my first year.

Well today, Thursday and the fourth day of the semester, was not as populated as it was on Monday, the first day of the semester, as if the plague hit the campus. I was completely astonished.

Yea, it's pretty crowded the first couple of weeks. There are already quite some people around 7am. I thought many people don't take 7am classes. It's going to slow down a couple of weeks later because I think people start dropping. However, during the intersessions, it's really quiet at pcc. Good luck to everyone at pcc. Welcome to pcc for those who are starting their first year here :)

One thing that I don't like about pcc is the amount of smokers on campus. Another thing is that classes fill up so fast, and you have to fight for a seat. But other than that academcially it's pretty good.

So true i hate those smokers.

i've heard from a professor that pcc's the only CC in the nation with an alumni winning a nobel prize(invented a protein synthesizer)

i am a dumbass (story later)

do you guys think that all stellar students with above average GPA should get paid to go to school? I mean if you think about it, school + its work almost = full-time work right?

I came up with this idea, because i always think that school is kinda inescapable. If you hate school, theres little that you can do about it. You can't quit it, because that, most likely, will only ruin your life. If people hate their job, they can quit and find another that suits what they want. Plus, smart people make a country wealthier right?

they're called professors.

Lol AdamantineX are you still in high school? :P
After high school its escapable. No one forces you to college, except that little voice in your head telling you "it will be hard so GO."

Also if a college pays you money to study at their school that would not make any economic sense at all. They provide you the professors, the classes, the campus, the dorms, and most importantly, the education, and they still have to pay you?

AdamantineX isn't in high school. The fact that not going to school could ruin your life financially forces him to go to college.

Oh and you do get paid--with knowledge.

No i am not in high school, but that would be cool tho if hs students also get paid. That will motivate students to work harder and get better grades.

Iono but personally I think that we are a part of the economy. Smart people and rich people improve the economy. Not many econ books metnion this, but my business textbook says that knowledge is a factor of production which makes a country prosper and wealthier. Without knowledge, it would be hard to obtain/utilize the other factors of production.

BUT DON'T YOU THINK IT'D BE COOL IF WE GET PAID TO GO TO SCHOOL?!??!? YOU HAVE TO ADMIT IT WOULD BE AWESOME!!! =D

if that were the case, a college degree would be an even more common occurence, thus diluting the importance of it.

and you do get paid, people with a college degree make on avg 1 million more than a non degreed person.

That's after college though. I am talking about during college and hs career. When we study and get A's we are not only benefitting ourselves but we also contributing to the future of this country and its economy.

More college degree = More smart motivated ppl (entrepreneurs, investors, inventors)

It's economics my friend. You have to have imput to expect an output. Companies won't bank you in for the abstract, but rather for what you do.

Oh I am selling McGraw-Hill Reader: Issues Across the DIsciplines for $35 bux anyone interested =P this is for english 1a at PCC
=D
