<p>I have a question. I am in Math 17A right now, but I want to switch out to 16. Would it look bad if I dropped down a level, and it is possible, right? Also, how likely is it that you will get into a class if you are on the waitlist (since 16B is currently all full)? </p>
<p>P.S. I am taking Chem2A next quarter but I heard the teacher I have is really hard (Guo). Should I switch to a different time? Or just stay with the one I have?</p>
<p>Guo is just a bad teacher (regardless of what he's teaching)... you won't learn anything and you'll be in the TA's office hours constantly trying to keep up.</p>
<p>If your major only requires the 16 series... go ahead & drop down. No sense working harder for no good reason. If you're relatively close on the waitlist then chances are you'll get it with a class size like the math 16 series.. but if you're far back on the list... just think about what percentage of people have to drop for you to get a spot.</p>

<p>During pass 2 you can have up to 18 units including waitlisted classes. During pass 2 open registration you can have up to 21 units including waitlisted classes. If your pass time is like Dec 7 I would suggest waiting a day to waitlist because pass 2 open reg starts December 8th.</p>

<p>No. Pass 2 Started yesterday. Open registration starts December 8th. What I meant was that if your pass was on the last day (Dec 7th) it may be easier to wait until open registration (Dec 8th) to add a course. This would be necessary if you have 16 units now and want to waitlist another course without dropping the one you have now. Which is what I got from your post.</p>
<p>^What is the difference between open registration and Pass 2? Aren't you at a one day disadvantage if you wait, rather than just waitlist during Pass 2?</p>
<p>*Also, is it true that if you are enrolled in Math17A for the fall quarter, but you want to register for Math 16B for the winter quarter, you will only get two units? If so, could someone please explain why, and if there is a website that explains how that works...?</p>

<p>Pretty sure they throw some new stuff out there for pass 2. Could just be my eyes with the rampant course changes students make, though. Either way, you're bound to see something new during open registration as people are adding/dropping all the time. I got into ENL 3 during Fall Open Registration (kinda hard to get into because most people need to fulfill some writing/ENL requirement) because I checked the site ever so often and someone dropped it.</p>
<p>For instance, I'm probably gonna swap MAT16A for STA13 come open registration. I could only do this in my specific time during pass 2.</p>
