So my pass 2 appointment is tomorrow at 2 pm. My current schedule is ATM 10 (severe weather), CLA 30 (word roots), MAT 17A, and FMS 1 (intro to film studies). My current plan is to drop ATM 10 and FMS 1 for CHE 2A and NPB 12 (brain and disease).

What I want to know is what the odds are that CHE 2A would have an open spot or how likely I am to get that class. I really need the class for my major (NPB) and I have been checking sisweb constantly. So, from anyone with experience, will I get the class?

Also, do you think that NPB 12 would be a little too much for my first quarter? I already have done several extensive research projects on the brain and diseases in high school so I’m hopefully anticipating that it won’t be as difficult. Does anyone have any feedback about this class?

You are unlikely to get CHE 2A in pass 2 unless they open up new sections - which they might do if there are lots of people on the waitlists. They did this last winter and that’s how I got in. Make sure and check every morning. What you can also do is enter the CRNs
in SISWEB like you are adding it. It will ‘error’ and say its full - do you want to go on the waitlist. At that point, it will then tell you how many people are on the waitlist already.
You can enter multiple CRNs at once as long as they fit in your schedule. Try to
find a section with 0 or 1 or even 2 on the waitlist. Last year, I did this and there were sections with 20 on the waitlist (Enderle for the teacher) and other sections only had
1 or 2. Then if you are waitlisted, make sure and go to the lab. If there are no shows (and there usually are at least a couple), they take people off the waitlist first. If no one shows up from the waitlist, they might do first come or do a lottery for the open slots.
Good luck to you.

good luck. The thing is, if you dont get the chem 2a spot now, your going to start it in the winter, and if you do, since its a A-B-C class, you will have to stay at davis during the summer :(

Bam it messed up your whole summer. And if you try to take 2c in the fall of next year, ur gunna forget everything over the summer. :(

I dunno about you, but summer is my time to go on vacations, and enjoy beaches, and hang out with friends from high school, and to visit family, and have fun.

Btw, if you drop those two classes you might lose your spot in them, so weigh the pros and cons.

uh no, CHE2C is offered in the fall. you don’t have to do summer session
lol you make everything so absolute. as if there’s no one taking remedial chem and not doing summer school. i think you can do it, but you might have to review a bit.
