pass/fail and grad schools

I am a sophomore Psychology major at a prestigious U.S. college. I plan to go to graduate school for either Social or Clinical Psychology and eventually work as an academic in the field.
In my economics class this semester, I have consistently received Bs on homework assignments, and I don't have a good feeling about our most recent midterm. It almost seems that there isn't a correlation between how much I study for my grades thus far in this class.
My guess is that I'll end up receiving a B in the class. However, my GPA right now is a 4.0, and I'd like to keep it that way for graduate school admissions.

Should I take the class Pass/Fail and focus on my other courses and research? Does this look bad during the grad school admissions process?

Thanks!

OH NOES! A B! How will you ever cope with less than a 4.0 GPA?

You’re also like me in that you’re very serious about your grade. However, you need to relax. Sure, it’s definitely awesome to have a 4.0 GPA because who doesn’t like a perfect grade? However a 3.5-3.9 GPA is nothing to cry about especially in a “prestigious” college. It might do you better just to take the hit on your GPA now so you’re not always under the pressure of ruining the 100 and can actually have some fun in school.

FWIW, I think a B looks much better than taking a pass/fail grade in a class. That pass can mean anything but a B is a B is a B.
