Pass/No pass classes for Law school?

hey guys so im a freshman in college and though my major is psych, i'm thinking of switching into law sometime later. however i read that when applying to law school they dont really like to see a lot of P/NP on the transcript. now the problem here is that im taking 3 freshman seminar classes freshman year where each class is only worth 1.0 units. but they only give P/NP as grades so should i just drop these classes because they dont give letter grades? or do law schools know that some classes only offer P/NP as grades? and also i already received a NP on one of the seminars. how bad is this going to hurt my chances? thanks you!

Doesn’t matter. Only thing that matters is your GPA at the time you apply.

This is not entirely right. Law schools don’t want to see too many P/NP grades, especially clustered together (suggests instability, perhaps) – but if it’s standard to have P/NP in a course, then I wouldn’t worry about it. Some colleges allow you to take courses either for a grade or P/NP. In such cases, law school would prefer a grade. But I took multivariate calc P/NP (everyone else took it for a grade). I barely passed. But I got into harvard law, stanford law etc. That P looked a lot better than a C+ On the other hand, the NP could hurt you. But what is there to do about it? Don’t worry and if you don’t get in to law school consider the possibility that it was a blessing! Check out:
