Pass/No Pass Grade

How many of you have taken a class or more with a pass/no pass grading option?

Would you recommend taking classes pass/no pass? How was your experience in these courses different?

I have taken one. I asked the admissions offices at the law schools I was considering how they would feel about it if I did it, and pretty much everyone said as long as it was just a couple courses and not a whole bunch of them in my major it would be no problem, so I took the one because I anticipated serious trouble in the class but it was a required course. I probably would’ve only gotten a C+ so it turned out to be a good choice. It only affected the experience in the course because it was less stressful and I could concentrate on mastering as much material as possible without worrying the damage to my GPA every little mistake would make.

I took a couple. The biggest thing is making sure it’ll still count for everything you need it to. For me to get my degree none of my required classes could be pass/fail, and only a certain number of nonrequired ones could be. It’s not really that different although once I got a couple As on the first tests I didn’t try nearly as hard the rest of the year.

at my school, the only classes that are pass/fail are the kinesiology ones.

I’m taking Calculus pass/fail - I’m not majoring in any math related field, and they grade the homework for correctness, which is annoying :b
