Hey all, I was wondering if taking a non major/non GE class for P/NP would affect ones transfer agreements if accepted to a UC? Basically I only have 3 classes to take and even after a random PE class (archery) I am still not full time, so to not have any problems I am thinking of taking precalc for the fun of it, but I am already taking applied calc 2 which is the class I actually need… Anyways I want to take precalc just in case I want to pursue higher levels of math later, but I also want to focus on the math class I actually need, so if I take precalc for P/NP would I be deemed unqualified for failure to maintain a certain GPA or something like that? I wouldnt need the class for anything other than being full time and I’ve heard some UC’s dont even consider precalc transferrable. Thoughts?
I see you want to major in business. Have you taken Stats? I think Precalc would be a waste of time.
Or maybe some other business classes?
@mikesauce There’s no reason to take precalc. So I would take something else. But yes, to answer your question you can do P/NP with no worries as long as you haven’t reached the 14 semester limit. (You can still take it; it just won’t transfer.) You also will not get transfer credit for precalc as its beneath calc 2. I would take a fairly easy class so as not to mess up the calc 2 grade, especially if your provisional has a clause that precalc needs to be a B.
Taking stats now. I get what you guys saying, I should take a course that will actually benefit me. Thanks!
lol I was just gonna say you should take stats since its actually useful xD
What about speech/communication courses? They could give you a boost in the business world.
