Pass/no pass on my last semester before transfer

I’m thinking I’m just pretty tired of really focusing on getting As on every single class by now and I just want a little break. The two classes I want to take pass/no pass are not my pre-reqs, just electives that I’m taking for personal interest. I’m assuming that if I take them pass/no pass it won’t be a big deal but I want a second opinion. Can anyone else weigh in?

Hmm… A drop in rigor may be a red flag for some colleges since colleges accept transfer based on their college classwork.
I guess the good side to a pass/fail class is that it isn’t calculated in your GPA, so if you don’t pass it doesn’t do much. On the other hand, I hope you aren’t relying on any pass/fail credit to count at another school for transfer. Some colleges you may want to transfer to might not accept the classes for credit due to no equivalency or the lack of a grade point assigned to it.

In short, I would only take these pass/fail classes if you know for certain that you already have the required GPA and credit hours to transfer to the schools you are interested in.

^^ Agree with this poster, but it also depends on which university if you’re trying to transfer to. Is it a school that’s a bit easier to get into or a school that is difficult to get into? Also, what are the classes? I know you said they are electives but electives in what subject?

I fully agree with everyone before me. There are schools which will not count P/F classes at all

Well, the classes I want to take for pass/fail are a programming class and a PE class I’m taking for personal enrichment (my GE and others are done). I’m also definitely not planning on failing these courses! My major is biology and I’m a California student, so I’m applying to CSU campuses (like SJSU and Cal Poly) as well as UC campuses (like UCSC and Cal)
