<p>Just out of curiosity, how do the UC's view utilizing the Pass/No pass option on major prep work? More specifically, UCSC, UCSB and UCI? I can only imagine that it is frowned upon, but I just wanted to see if the forum-goers here had any other input to add. Thanks!</p>

<p>Most majors won’t count P/NP classes within your major, meaning within your major you must take classes for a grade. Even outside the major there is generally a limit on how many units you can take P/NP. It’s best to consult your major department and see if they even allow it, which more often then not they don’t.</p>
