What kind of classes do UC's accept for P/NP grade ruling?

Is it alright if I use P/NP for both my science requirements and my language requirements?

These are the class I will be using my P/NP (CR/NC)

1.) Geology (Physical Science)
2.) Anthropology (Biological Science)
3.) Spanish (Foreign Language)
4.) History of Rock and Roll (Taking this class for units)

I am taking Geology and the Rock and Roll class this semester, and I will take the Anthro + Spanish next semester. Those total 4 classes are added up to 14 units worth which is in the limit of UC.

I don’t have an answer for you as I am asking the same thing. I am an older student trying to finish my bachelors degree. I am Tagging to Davis. I actually have lots of classes I have taken P/NP over the years, over 19 units, but none of those were in transferable or required classes. So does the 14 unit limit pertain only to classes that are used for transfer or IGETC? I am thinking of changing my current Inter. Algebra class to P/NP but I don’t want to mess anything up. I will be taking Stats in the spring for a grade for my Math requirement.

bumpbbbbbbbbbbbump

Yes, as long as they are not your major prerequisites.

You are good to go

Sorry 2nd poster, can’t answer your question with an exact answer, but I do know that the 14 units allowed to take P/NP are transferable units, so I think you should be fine with changing the Intermediate Algebra class to P/NP

^^Thanks, Sparkyboy. So, the only classes you shouldn’t P/NP are your major classes?

Yes, you should never P/NP your major classes. As for Gen Ed, take the EASY way out lol (just make sure you don’t go over 14 units). I don’t even buy the book or care about my history class, just show up, change it to P/NP, take a quick look at the notes 15 min before the exam, and pass the class with a 82% lol
