Not much community service to be honest though I've been volunteering as a patient representative for about 12 weeks now one day per week and a couple of months/weeks work experience shadowing doctors and surgeons (I'm planning to become a doctor) but I don't think that will make much of a difference? Not sure.

It is not too late. My son applied around this time last year and was accepted. With the stats you’ve listed I think you have an excellent chance of admission.

Penn State has rolling admissions. If you apply prior to December 31 I believe that you will hear back by Feb 28. The continue to admit students until their freshman class is full.

@br2pi5 - Yes accepted to University Park for Fall 2012. SAT was 1870, UW GPA was 3.67. Class rank 9 out of 240. Mostly honors and AP classes. Lots of ECs but don’t know how much of a factor they are at Penn State. We are out of state.

My D was also admitted to UP last year with 1840/3.73 unweighted. Rank 44/557. All honors/AP classes. Many ECs, but they don’t matter at Penn State.
