If I change a grade option to P/NP, what will happen if I end up with NP? I dont need to get the credit units, but what happens to my GPA?

It won’t affect your GPA on your transcript, but if you plan on applying to grad school, it will be recalculated into your GPA. You should drop the class if it’s going to be the case.

Too late to drop any classes now? What do you mean recalculate into your GPA? If I get a P, what will I get during recalculate?

If you apply to grad school, they consider P/NP differently than how it appears on your transcript. P/NP technically doesn’t affect your GPA, but if you intent to go to grad school, it will. It’s the equivalent of getting an F. Every school calculates this differently though. Getting a pass won’t affect your GPA as positively as getting a fail.

You need to talk to a counselor about these problems. Whether you can drop a class right now depends on whether there are extenuating circumstances and whether the class is impacted.

what if P?
I calculated if I get B in this course, it will hurt my GPA. If I get P, it will ace my GPA a little bit. So I am thinking to choose P/NP grade. But when apply to grad school, what will do with a P? They will absolutely recalculate?

Passing won’t affect your GPA in calculations. Failing will. That’s what I hear, but it could be wrong.

On your transcript, a pass won’t affect your GPA. UCLA does not consider P/NP classes in calculating your GPA. When you apply to grad school, ever grad school considers it differently.

I recently transfered to a univeristy that I believe calculated my § grades incorrectly when calculating my overall GPA. I transfered 24.5 credit hours and 2.5 of these hours are Pass § earned hours.

If I am correct, these 2.5 hours never count into quality hours earned, but only tow credits attempted, right? My totalt Grade Points equals 63.90.

When GPA is calculated they should divide my Grade Points with my quality hours earned (22) only? They can’t divide it by 24.5 since 2.5 of those are Pass grade hours.

Am I 100% correct with my thoughts here?
