Thanks @bester1. Demographics in general is also part of the decline. Less HS students and less people overall in PA (losing population) in recent years.
CALU of PA is rated 5th in the country for online education. I thought that it was news worthy.

Quality or… number of students enrolled? (And/or percentage of enrolled students who graduate?)
Quality
Thanks - useful for PA adults returning to school or degree finisher in particular.
You are welcome. I found it interesting and perhaps a low cost alternative to some?
If you are looking for value in the western PA area, try St. Bonaventure right over the border in New York. Very generous in merit and financial aid. It ended up being my cheapest option, and provides a higher quality of education than any of the PA system state schools, division 1 athletics as well as pretty good facilities and staff. I visited Mansfield, Edinboro, Lock Haven, none have the quality of Bonaventure. I’m a freshman in the business school, and we are having the CEO of Citibank (Bona alum) speak to us soon, so not a bad school really
@Orioles13 …Thank you for the suggestion. She and a friend visited, was a bit too small and rural for their liking. They said the partying was intense(as we all know you can find on every college campus) but it just didn’t fit. I personally think is is a hidden jewel.
@laralei, how about UA Huntsville?
Full tuition with 30-33 ACT and 3.5-3.99 GPA

Or Concordia College in NY?

up to full tuition, requires separate app
I like to reinforce the value of an education…this article provides some recent insight…enjoy

With financial award…Cleveland State comes in at $19,000 not including incidental living expenses. She will also likely decent athletic scholarship money. Not my preference but she is pleased with it. Still can’t believe they come in under PASSHE schools.

Don’t look now but PASSHE is going to condense/merge some of the schools(likely Clarion, CALU, Edinboro, Mansfield). Many predicted this but still interesting as most of these schools have added many new buildings(residence halls, rec centers and such) over the past 5 years or so. Same funding level as 17 years ago…

Interesting article on the PASSHE deficit. I found this section the most telling. It seems as if they already determined the firm that will do the study and what the recommendations will be…and I thought that PASSHE was a public system and that the sunshine laws require disclosure?

"State System spokesman Kenn Marshall said officials are reviewing proposals from consultants who responded to a call to gather data and analyze issues including the number and location of universities, programs and personnel necessary to meet the mission of providing “high quality education to students at the lowest possible cost to students.”
Citing exemptions in the state’s Right to Know law, Marshall declined to identify the consultants who submitted proposals."
