I haven't seen anything on here about the possible strike that 14 universities in PA may be facing. School just started today for those schools. The faculty have been working for awhile without a contract and so they are threatning to strike. Wondering if any of you know about this and also what you feel about it? I have been trying to read up on the website but thought it might be a good discussion topic. My DD is a sophomore at one of these schools and there are contingent plans in place. The university will remain open but the teachers that strike will not be holding classes.

I live in PA and haven’t heard about this. Thanks for the info! If you don’t mind me asking, what school does your daughter attend? Does she like it?

Wasn’t the strike authorization vote months ago? Has something new happened to make a strike imminent?

They voted on 1/24/13 to allow a strike to happen. She has received emails that a strike could happen. The semester just started today. She attends Slippery Rock University and loves it there.
