<p>what kind of activities do/did you do that you plan to display your passion/interest in when you write your college app?</p>

Besides a sport/instrument, what did you devote an "equal" (or more) amount of time to that made it equivalent/better to being an athlete/musician (in your own view and/or the adcom's view)?? </p>
<p>I help teach elementary schoolers mathematics and I’m trying to get an internship at a prestigious research lab in my area to demonstrate my love of math and the sciences?</p>
<p>Writing novels. Volunteering. Being on my school’s newspaper staff. Creating films with my school’s film club. Being a part of Book Club, Beta Club, Spanish Club and (hopefully) NHS (and most likely earning leadership positions).</p>
<p>I’ve worked on my school’s newspaper throughout the past three years and will be editor-in-chief in the fall. I’m on my school’s history quiz bowl team and will most likely be captain next year. I also do a lot of stuff with my youth group at church between volunteering, going on mission trips, and working with the younger kids. Also some smaller stuff, but those are the three big ones.</p>
