Passion? What passion?

Awesome!!! Anybody having anymore questions regarding the “secret” to Ivy admission should read this!!

adrivit, all i wanted to know was why anybody can FALL IN love with ANY school. Not what they think why III like a school. that’d be impossible, eh?

Aww shucks. Bessie, if only you read the post i did for another thread. I asked if it was okay to put “tutoring my 5 year sister” in Chinese and English as a legitimate “EC” and others were like, “5 year olds have baby sitters, not tutors” and another said “it doesn’t count because it is inside your house”. RIght now, i have it listed as my main EC. I ADORE my baby sister, she’s the brightest thing in the world, and my limited time with her is the most precious thing to me. I know i’m not supposed to worry about what adcoms will think, but i just think my real reasons are so CORNY and simple. Or worse, this activity will be interpreted as “fluff” to fill up the 7 activities on the application form.

People on CC with their UN Model students, Congresswoman internships scare the crap out of me. I know EC’s aren’t weighted by their name, but it seems like such a TEST sometimes i hate it.

Tell you what, put THAT EC at the top of the list and adcoms will know for sure that you are a remarkable individual, who doesn’t fear what the adcoms might think and pattern her ECs accordingly … If you think you learned the most about yourself by spending those awesome hours with your baby sister, wonderful! Couldn’t be better. IMO adcoms are tired of MUNs and other show-off stuff! You are a science genius who works in a pizza store but has never heard of Intel etc … that’s somebody MIT would like to take!!

Yea, your analogy would work except i’m not much of a genius. I’m ordinary as heck. That’s why i’m so insecure about the process, to tell you the truth.
