"Passport quality photo" on housing application

On the housing application, it asks for a passport quality photo. Can I just take a picture with my macbook using photobooth and upload that? I know that for the Bruin card, I really should go down and get a passport photo taken to mail in, but what about for the housing app?

I just scanned the passport photo that I got taken at Costco.

Yes you can just take any picture with any camera as long as its pretty clear.

You don’t have to even submit one for the housing. I never did and nothing happened. I still don’t even know what they do with the pictures.

For your Bruin card, you can have your picture taken for you the first day of orientation.

^ Be prepared for a long line though.

for housing you dont need a photo, forget that.

for your bruincard: if you wait until your orientation you can get a picture taken for free but you will need to wait in a huge line. if you can go get a passport photo now you can send it to them with the bruincard form and they will send it back before your orientation.

For the bruincard just take a picture with a digital camera against a white wall, same thing as a passport photo and way faster & cheaper

We really don’t need a photo for the housing application?

For my last set of passport photos I did the same thing - used our point and shoot digital camera to snap a head shot while up against a white wall. I then printed it out on a regular color ink jet printer making sure it conformed to the size specs for the passport office.

The above worked fine for the passports so if it was good enough for them then it s/b good enough for use at UCLA.
