I plan on self-studying Calculus Ab because my school only allows a person to either take Ap stats or Ap calc and I have already chosen Stats and can't change. I have taken Algebra II and IB Math Studies. Is this enough of a "perquisite" to be able to do well on the Ap exam? Has anyone done this before? How did you do it?

For AP calculus AB you needed to be really good with your algebra and be able to manipulate equations in order to find the answer in the multiple choice. As for things past algebra you would want a basic pre-cal class that would go over basic trig functions and their identities. This basic trigonometry is the only real prerequisite for understanding and excelling in AP Calculus AB, but for higher levels of calculus you will have wanted to tak pre-cal beause you will be running into things such as polar coordinates and vectors.

Long story short, if you’re really good at algebra and you have covered basic trig in your IB course then you should be all set to take AP Calculus AB
