Past SAT Scores

Why does Cornell ask for past SAT Scores and do they usually have a negative impact on admission chances or are they seen as an improvement. I had a 1900 before and I'm feeling like this would reduce my chances :( .

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMP 10char

You need to relax with the spam bumping. General rule of thumb is wait 24 hours. I know the answer to your question, but I think I won’t encourage your spam by giving you an answer.

You needn’t have done that, you could have told me that and the answer as well o.O

I have emailed admissions about this, and they said they ONLY consider your highest score from each section. I don’t know why they ask for all scores then, though :/

They want to know that you didnt sit for the SAT four or five times. That “top” score among five sittings doesn’t look as strong as someone with a similar score who took it twice.

Basically, they want to know that you’re not an SAT robot – that you had better things to do in your life besides spend every Sat for 3 years prepping for the SAT.

ok that’s better so my past scores shouldn’t hurt me then.
