I got the CD thing in the mail about housing and whatever. I got caught up with school and music the past few weeks, looked at it today, and it said my "due date" was march the fifth. What are the repercussions of this?

I'm not sure of anything right now (college, major, state, what have you) but I don't want any of my options to be closed off.

If I did go to UF, I'd want to do Hume... does that typically fill up? I wouldn't think so, but then again, what do I know.

If you are talking about the $200 housing deposit (not sure if it the same now), then yes there are repercussions. Your new priority date will be the date that they receive that deposit. Chances at Hume is very slim if when you priority date is changed to March XX. Typically Hume is full.

Ha, well I'm probably going to live off campus then. No college will get $200 of mine until I'm absolutely 100 percent sure I'm going there. I've spent enough money on applications already...

Had to correct the grammar --->Chances at Hume ARE very slim if your priority date is changed to March XX. Typically Hume is full.

I think the $200 would have been totally refundable if you told them before a certain date. But I completely understand not wanting to pay it, I thought the $25 was also strange, since I haven't seen any other school do this.

Visirale, UF will refund your housing deposit (minus a $35 fee) if you cancel early enough. I think the date for a full refund, less the fee, is May 1, but check the contract online to see. I think it's a small price to pay for the assurance of knowing you'll have a dorm room.

FWIW, I sent in the deposit for my S and then cancelled a couple of weeks ago when he decided that he wasn't going to attend. UF was prompt about sending my refund.

Last year, my son received his Summer B housing assignment on May 25th, and his Fall housing assignment on July 6th. They e-mailed his dorm assignment, and his roommate's name, address, phone, and e-mail address. Later, they mailed copies to the house. Good luck to all of you!

yeah... i didn't fill my housing contract out either by march 5th... there's no way i'm wasting $200 nd then another $200 when i'm between 4 schools...
