Silly question but ...
I'm very interested in Pastry Arts and I can see myself doing it. However, I really have that much knowledge of baking and such. Sad, no? Anyways, I heard you can major in culinary/pastry arts even if you don't have skills or knowledge. Is that true?

Does anybody know any good colleges that you can major in Pastry Arts?

As I recall, there is a thread here somewhere that details someone who had a terrible experience at Johnson & Wales. It might be worth searching.

Thank you for the links! That was really helpful and I dont think it'll be on my list anymore.
That teacher sounds like a nightmare. But I wouldn't run into him since he's culinary and not pastry. But I definitely don't like how the school handled the situation when confronted. Not to mention, the reviews on that school arerrible.

I have no personal knowledge of J&W, but I was just going by amith's reported experience. I thought it was alarming, and I would double and triple check before I would let my student go there. They say that for every person who vocalizes a complaint, there are 10 others who are dissatisfied but say nothing. Now, that's scary!

Which ever schools make it on to your list, I would carefully research their placement success since culinary arts is vocational and the goal is to work and have a successful career.
