Patiently waiting for our trasnfer acceptance! :)

EDIT:
Wow, way to mispell the title...

I know it's way way early, but I figured I would start this off.
Just submitted my application tonight, and all of my required credentials should be in by Monday/Tuesday...

Stats:
HS & College GPA: 3.5
SAT: 1800
Essay: Decent, not amazing, but definitely stepped away from the "typical" essay.
EC'S: Human Right's Campaign Volunteer, American Red Cross Volunteer, spent the summer as a children's day camp counselor.
In highschool: Student Council, Key Club, "Music Heals".
No awards/volunteer positions other than a committee chair in student council.
OOS
Ethnicity: Hispanic/Latino
Applying to: SAS New Brunswick, eventually will be at Rutgers Business School!

Who else is applied/really close? Stats/School?

Soooo excited and anxious!

Really? Nobody else on CC is a transfer?

Hey, I’m in the same boat with you lexsi, I am currently attending community college in New Jersey and will be getting my associates this summer.
My stats:
Have about 60+ credits
GPA: 3.80
Majoring in Accouting
Applying to : SAS NB, Rutgers Business School in NB and Rutgers Business School in Newark. I actually also applied to University of Maryland-College Park.
I was just wondering why didn’t you apply right away to NB Business school?

Good Luck !

Good to hear from you! Have you put your application in yet?
And I actually can’t apply to NB Business school until I have more credits… I can’t remember the actual stipulation but I have to take 12 credits with SAS before I can apply to NB-Business.
And I thought there was a separate application for NB Business in July after being admitted to SAS…?

I applied back in November for Transfer student. I didn’t know that there were a seperate application for SAS and Business NB. When I did my application, I remembered they gave 3 school to choose from. I chose SAS, NB Business and Newark Business.
I’m in state actually, are you OOS? If yes from where?
How many credits do you have so far?

My situation is that I have 60+ credits and I did all the pre-requisite to get into NB Business school. I think this would be the first time that they will take trasnfer student from outside Rutgers.

Oh whoops! I think that might have been an old rule (the separate applications), but since I am a transferring Sophomore I haven’t completed the prerequisites, I have to finish them before applying.

I have roughly 30 credits, although I’m not sure how they will transfer considering I have 45-50 on a quarter system…

And yes, I am OOS, from Oregon! You should be fine transferring in state with an associates, and your stats! I’m sure you’ll even hear back pretty early. Keep us updated… hopefully more transfers will roll in as the time goes on…

Lexsi340 I have a question for you since you are applying to Rutgers NB. I’m considering transferring, still unsure, but when I looked at Rutgers site I read it as if you are accepted as a transfer you can’t deny admission unless you are in the US Military. Do you know if this is true?

Can you send the link to that over? That sounds pretty insane, maybe the wording is off. Because of course you can say you don’t want to go if you are accepted… you might have been accepted to another school! Infact, in past years I’ve seen loads of kids do just that.

Yeah I checked and it said deferring admission…so now that I’ve been looking at it I’m thinking that it meant you can’t defer admission for a year and then go back to it. I’m hoping that’s what it means at least

Yup, I do believe that’s the policy… so you should be fine! What are your stats/where are you applying?

Well, I’m still not sure if I will be transferring or not. I am currently attending what I thought was my “dream” school, but didn’t have a great first semester. This was due to a lot of different things including a roommate who turned rather unpleasant and trying to belong in a group that was mostly formed of high school friends. However, I am pledging a sorority and hopefully having a job on campus this coming semester so I am hoping that that will make me feel more at home. I am considering applying just to have a school in case I am not happy at the end of my second semester.

Aww, well I hope your second semester goes well & if not good luck getting into Rutgers! :)

Applying as Transfer to Rutgers-NB SAS as well. Fall 2011.

HS GPA: 3.72 UW
College GPA: 3.52 UW
Credits: 75 (Most non-transferable)
SAT: Not required.
Out-of-State (But currently requesting In-State, since I live in NJ, although studied at a college out of state)
Extracurricular: National Honor Society, Medical Society, Leadership Position, few Community Service hours.
Essay: Well written, but I’m not sure if I got to the point (Meaning, answer the actual question completely.)
Ethnicity: Hispanic

I’m worried because my college transcripts show 2 F’s and a repeated class!

I will be frustrated if I don’t get in, since before HS I was a straight A’s (meaning perfect score) student. Then went on to a specialized High School, which was challenging, and was still able to graduate with Honors. I currently have 13 medals on my wall, along with 20+ certificates for being in different competitions and Dean’s List, and several trophies. I’m a software engineer/developer, and develop websites since I was 14. I speak English, Spanish, and French.

I was already admitted to Rutgers-NB + Newark + Camden (All three for School of Arts and Sciences, going for Astronomy & Physics) back in 2008, but went on to another college, that is now worrying me.
