Patriot League Recruiting

So I am recruit for a patriot league school and just finished my official visit. I was given an estimated financial aid package and an early admission contract. I am unsure whether or not I want to go to this school but verbally committed and was told to have contract signed ASAP. If i choose to deny this offer will my application be taken out of consideration for being a regular student? Is my financial aid going to be different seeing that it is need based ? Is there an official deadline to make a decision ?

Any advice would help.
Thank you

I am assuming that this school is not one that offers athletic money? It is my understanding that some of the Patriot schools offer athletic scholarships and some do not. If your FA is need based, then that may/may not change depending on the school. I know that the Patriot League school my son was being recruited by did not offer athletic scholarships but what they did do was offer the entire FA package in a grant instead of loans/work study (items you need to pay).
That being said, why would you commit to a school that you were not sure you wanted to attend? I guess the word “committment” is taken too lightly these days.
You do realize that coaches talk amongst each other and it will not look good for you to decommit. Most schools want their contracts signed by the NLI dates. Not sure what sport you play, so that dates are different.
If you don’t sign the contract, why would you want to keep your application in regular decision at the school? If you want to go there, keep your word and sign the contract.
