<p>Does anyone know if there was a specific pattern to the decision waves last year? So far, I know that CHP and Regents + high GPA students have been accepted to UCI. I have a low UC GPA (3.47), a high SAT (2110), and really really good ECs + essays.</p>
<p>Was there a pattern to decisions being given out last year? Like high GPA students get admitted first and then the decisions for low GPA come out (regardless of whether they were accepted or rejected)? That would help calm the nerves of those who're in the same boat as me with low GPAs + high SATs lol.</p>

<p>Is everyone a sci major or engineer? Any accepted to psych or humanities??? I saw one criminology & some business. Dont get the pattern, wish they did like other UCs all on one or two days. this s*******ckssssssssss</p>
<p>I feel like they’re accepting based on major first. I was looking through the decision thread and people who were accepted were 99% from majors that start with the letter A-E or something along those lines.</p>

<p>Idk I applied for meche with a 3.92 uc gpa and 32 act and haven’t heard anything. O.o Cal poly was the same way, everyone though it was by major but it ended up being totally random.</p>

<p>Yeah ok, looks like they’re releasing decisions alphabetically by major… everyone that’s posted their stats on this forum seem to have applied for Aerospace Engineering, Business, Biological Sciences, or Chemistry. the only exception is that I have a friend who applied for Philosophy who got in already and there’s people who’re getting in as undeclared already. </p>

<p>I concur with panther. Decisions appear to be coming out in alphabetical order based on major with the exception of undecided</p>
<p>I applied as an Anthropology major and have yet to hear from UCI, so i dont think its alphabetically based</p>

<p>It definitely is not alphabetical, my daughter is a freshman there now as an ICS major (Information & Computer Science) and was accepted on 2/1, the first day they had acceptances, last year. Not anywhere near alphabetical. She had a very good GPA, very high ACT (didn’t submit SAT for acceptance, did later for other things), nothing at all for ECs that would stand out, but decent personal statements.</p>
<p>I volunteer in the scholarship office at my daughter’s former high school and am helping kids now who are struggling with the “how is that decision made, will I be in or out” issue in regards to their UCI acceptance. I know it’s hard not to obsess about it, but really, I don’t think there is any pattern. Good luck to those still waiting, I hope you get decisions that make you happy!</p>
