Isn't that part of SCPS? That's NYU's adult ed school, for adults who have been out of school for a while and want to re-enter.

What the heck is this? I go to NYU and have never even heard of it.

It is intended for adults. Matth is correct.

Here are the admission criteria - One of the following must be presented for evaluation:

Most recent college transcript showing 15 or more credits earned in the past 5 years from an accredited college or university in the US, and with a cum GPA of 2.75/4.00.

A combined SAT score of at least 1100

A completed McGhee admissions test with a passing score.

This is similar to the general studies program at Columbia. I question the validity of the degree granted, each class is worth 4 credits and are offered once a week. I believe the degrees granted by McGhee are more for personal satisfaction, as the program is geared towards working adults returning back to school.
Either way I wouldn't consider applying since the course selection is limited, and students are not allowed to take elective courses with regular NYU Students.

Ex-convict graduates NYU - Features

I question how good the program is when a convicted murderer graduates with honors lol.

No, it has actually very little in common with the GS program at Columbia - unlike Columbia, classes at McGhee are separated and taught by different instructors. While most classes at CAS are also 4 credits (& some even 5 - 6 credits), it’s true that classes at McGhee are less rigorous and taught by less-qualified instructors. Most students are working adults looking for personal satisfaction, but there’s also fair amount of students looking to advance their education (graduate school) / career.

The major/course selection is extremely limited, but students at McGhee are allowed to cross-register at other schools and some do transfer out after their 1st or 2nd year - just be aware that they may not accept all transfer credits from McGhee.
