According to Tulane's website (Tulane Admission: Merit Scholarships), "winners [of the Paul Tulane Award] are notified on a rolling basis." I'm curious if anyone knows when results can be expected for that scholarship relative to the time of submission, and if a student that applied will receive some notification that they did not win.

If anyone could shed some light on the subject I would be very grateful.

I know it says rolling notifications, but last year (the first year of the PTA) it seems they made all of the notifications around March 10 or sometime like that. It will probably be the same this year, but we will see. They will notify those that do not receive the award, I feel sure. They started doing that for the DHS a couple years ago and I think are doing that for all scholarships that require a separate application.

I have to correct myself. In looking back there were some notifications for the PTA that went out the same time as the DHS and arrived to people home’s via UPS on February 20 and 21 (at least that does show they are coordinating so that a single student doesn’t win both) and the remainder went out a couple weeks later. Thanks to Justmehere for pointing that out.

Well, so far it looks like they mailed some last Friday and some yesterday. So it is really hard to say what their schedule is this year, or if they are sending out a few at a time with a target to be finished by a certain date. There is just no way for us to know.
I was emailing my admissions counselor the other day and he mentioned that the committees had finished their decisions. I assumed they’d all go out around the same time; it seems a little weird to roll out decisions sporadically once they’ve all been made but then again I’m no admissions counselor!
Might just be a matter of labor availability to put the packets together. Also, since the letters are personalized, finishing the decisions might not equal everything being ready to mail.
