Paul Tulane Scholarship

Hello,

I am thinking about applying to Tulane but based off the NPC results, I do not think I can afford Tulane without a full tuition scholarship. The website does not give very specific information about what the Paul Tulane Award is looking for and I was wondering if anyone could explain it. I am posting my stats below, if they seem to be too low to bother applying then please let me know!

GPA: 3.986 UW
SAT: 1510 out of 1600 (740 Math, 770 R+W) 24 out of 24 Essay
ACT: 34C 26W (yikes, I know)
SAT II: Math 2 (740) Chemistry (760)
AP Classes:
Taken: Human Geography (5) Calc AB (5) Chemistry (4) Lang (5) Phys 1 (4)
Senior Year: Literature, Bio, Calc BC, and Gov
Dual Enrollment Classes: University of WA Spanish 103 AND 201, Green River Community College Java Programming
ECs: NHS (president 1 year, member 3 years), academic decathlon (4 gold medals, 1 silver, 3 bronze at state). FBLA (6th at state), Girls Who Code SIP 2015, University of Washington Mathematics Academy 2016, Cheerleading (7?? years), Key Club (member 2 years)
Other random stuff: AAUW Mathematics scholar 2016, MS Office cert in word and ppt (probably not relevant but i put it cause i was self taught and didn’t take a class)

Thank you for your time!

@amandanee1

You appear to be a strong candidate for the PTA. The general guidelines for both it and the DHS (which should should also apply for) are top 5% of your class, which i am guessing a 3.986 UW GPA would put you in, strong schedule, which your AP’s and dual enrollment meet, and a 33+ on the ACT or a 2250+ on the old SAT. Not sure how they are doing things with the new SAT, but I would guess 1500+. Either test, you meet those standards.

So definitely go for it. Be aware you have to apply EA or ED to qualify for either scholarship.
